About Rainhill WI

Rainhill WI was born in 1980 with a lot of founder members still attending meetings today, though we have had lots of new members recently, we are made up of ladies of all ages and welcomed our youngest member, who is 18, in September.

We meet on the third Tuesday of every month (except August) in the Teak room of the Rainhill Village Hall.

So far in 2017 we have had two excellent speakers – check out our January & February meeting pages – and have a packed programme for the remainder of the year.

We play an active role in the local community and try to participate in Lancashire Federation activities whenever possible.

We are part of a group of WI’s in and around our local area. We will attend each others celebrations and events such as Carol Concerts, Craft shows and Group meetings where one of the WI’s hosts an evening of entertainment and of course a superb supper. Kendricks Cross (also from Rainhill), Halewood in Liverpool and Crank are part of our Group. We hold our annual Christmas party with Kendricks Cross WI.

Rainhill WI contribute to a number of local and national charities.  Our main fundraising event of the year is the Rainhill Gala, which this year takes place on Monday 27th May on the playing fields of St Ann’s C of E Primary school.

Outings/Theatre Trips

We have some great days out coming up throughout the year along with some theatre trips.
