18th November 2014 Meeting

‘Mystery Shopper’

Guest Speaker: Mr Keith Vigurs

Including our ‘Charity Raffle’
for Student Fundraiser, Miss Ellie Case’s Expedition to Tanzania 2015

Tuesday 18th November 2014

Thank you to Mr Keith Vigurs for a wonderful insight into what a ‘Mystery Shopper’ is?  In truth, a ‘Spy’ for the Retail Trade.  A retired Bank Manager, Keith has been a ‘Mystery Shopper’ for several years now and went on to entertain us with the stories and characters he has met over this time.   From restaurants to vets, it’s all about asking the right questions and expecting the right answers.

We also welcomed Ellie Case, a Year 12 Student from Rainhill High 6th Form, who wrote to Rainhill WI seeking support with her fundraising towards a trip to Tanzania with True Adventures in 2015.  Ellie told us what she will be getting up to whilst there, as well as assisting building new schools and homes for the locals, she will also get to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.  What a life changing experience!

The Committee decided to hold a prize raffle towards Ellie’s fund, and would like to thank all members of Rainhill WI for their contributions that went into making three fantastic hampers along with other prizes donated.  Thanks to the generosity of our members, on the night we raised £170 for Ellie.  Thank You!

Ellie has promised to come back and see us again following her expedition and give us a presentation telling us all about it.  Good Luck Ellie – see you in 2015!
