November 2015 Meeting

‘Our Local Library Services’

Guest Speaker: Sue Williamson, Head of Library Services, St Helens Council

Tuesday 17th November 2015

Thank you to Sue Williamson, Head of Library Services in St Helens for coming along to our meeting on 17th November and for the wonderful insight into the services on offer in our local libraries.

Did you know that it is still the first most popular public activity and provides the hub of a community?  Sue told us “a good library can help people’s lives and help achieve what they want to achieve”.  Your local library can offer more than a wonderful genre of books, they also have an ‘Arts & Culture’ programme featuring drama, poetry, music & art, and so much more.  Services are being brought in to the 21st Century with e-books, free internet access and social media – follow St Helens Libraries on Facebook and on Twitter @STHLibraries.

Libraries are very much in the firing line of Government cuts and need your support, if you are a library member, encourage a family member or friend to join and best of all it’s FREE!
